How Do I Become Certified? PDF Print E-mail
The IICRC is a certifying organisation, not a Trade Association.  Certification is attained by sucessfully completing educational courses and examinations.  The IICRC owns no schools, employs no instructors and produces no training materials.  Instead, it approves schools and instructors meeting specific criteria established by the IICRC Certification Council.

  • Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician
  • Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
  • Water Damage Restoration Technician
  • Applied Structural Dying Technician
  • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician
  • Odour Control Technician
  • Carpet Repair and Reinstallation Technician
  • Colour Repair Technician
  • Health & Safety Technician
  • Floor Care Technician
  • Leather & Cleaning Technician
  • Rug Cleaning Technician
  • Stone, Masonry and Ceramic Tile Cleaning Technician
  • Introduction to Substrate and Subfloor Inspection
  • Senior Carpet Inspector
  • Hard Flooring Inspector (Marble & Stone, Wood & Laminate, Ceramic Tile and Resilient)
Each certification category has unique requirements specified by its IICRC Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).  In all cases, individuals must attend an IICRC approved course, successfully complete a written examination and document skills in the specific subject to become certified.

Examination Fees
  • Examination and certification fees for all cleaning and restoration categories, except applied Microbial Remediation Techinician are $50AUD.
  • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician exam and certification fee is $150AUD.
  • Certified Flooring Inspectors Exam and review fee is $150AUD. After completeing the review process, annual fees are $80AUD for those listed as Practising and $40AUD for those listed as “ Credentialed” Inspectors.
Certification Fees
  • To maintain IICRC Certification, registrants are required to earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs) and pay and annual renewal fee.
  • Annual renewal fees may vary according to the number of certifications held.
Course Fees
  • The cost of any particualr course is set by the sponsor of the class, not by IICRC.
  • None of the class fees paid by the student or employer goes to IICRC.

About Continuing Education Credits (CECs) PDF Print E-mail
PURPOSE OF CEC PROGRAM: The program seeks to encourage registrants to actively participate in their industry; through convention, with continuing education, and by sharing knowledge with others in the cleaning service industry.
