What is the IICRC?
iicrc-button.jpg The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is the certification registry and standard setting organisation for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. It is the largest non for profit registry of inspectors, cleaners and restorers serving the Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, Great Britan and Japan. It is controlled by regional and international trade associations. Thus the IICRC represents the entire industry.

The IICRC was established in 1972 to provide a means by which professionals could receive generic training and become certifited. Today, it is recognised as the impartial certification body for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. Independent and franchise professionals worldwide are tested through the IICRC.

Students who attend an IICRC-approved course and pay the appropriate fee are eligible to take certification exams and become IICRC Certified in each specific category.

IICRC Certififaction is a process that must be renewed annually, as well as maintained by earning IICRC aproved Continuing Education Credits (CECs) and meeting on going program requirements. Also, regsitrants must pledge to adhere to an IICRC Code of Ethics.

Simply stated, the IICRC’s purpose is to set industry standards, establish required course criteria, approve schools and instructors, administer uniform testing and maintain an up to date registry of certified professionals. It verifies that individuals and companies within the industry meet prescribed levels of proficiency based on training, education and field experience.
